Crewing is completely free—and if you're new to Fields of Illusion, you're still eligible for our New Player Ticket if you decided to play at a future event. That means you can get involved, help shape the event, and experience everything our world has to offer without spending a penny. It’s the perfect way to try LARP for the first time, both behind the scenes and in the thick of the action!
Play a Variety of Roles
As part of the crew, you'll get the chance to portray a wide range of characters. One moment you might be a helpful villager, the next a fearsome creature, or even a mysterious noble with secrets to spill. You’ll explore different styles of roleplay throughout the weekend—and maybe discover a favourite!
All you need to bring is a set of dark base clothes (like black or dark brown trousers and a top)—we’ll provide the rest! From costume pieces to masks and props, we’ve got you covered.
Try Out Weapons and Combat Styles
Ever wanted to try using a sword? A staff? Dual daggers? Crewing lets you test different weapons and combat styles in a safe and supportive environment. It’s a great opportunity to see what feels right for you before stepping into a player character role.
Be Part of the Story
Crewing isn’t just about helping out—it’s about building the world. You’ll help run encounters, portray non-player characters (NPCs), and create memorable moments for others. Whether you prefer action, drama, or teamwork, you’ll have a real impact on the story and the player experience.
