Fields of Illusion
Welcome to Fields of Illusion
Fields of Illusion is a high fantasy hero LARP set in the world of the Phoenix Empire, where black powder meets magic and myth. With room for around 100 players, this is a collaborative world shaped by your imagination—and your skills. The setting welcomes all, whether you prefer high adventure, quiet mystery, political intrigue, or raw survival.

The Setting: Brokers Field
Our game takes place across 90 acres of private woodlands, hills, and quarry lands. The main encampment sits atop a slope known as Brokers Field, named for its reputation as a place of deal-making and resilience. Landmarks like the Clutii Wells and Hero Shrines mark places of magical and cultural power. Nearby, the hamlet of Hernscombe—founded after past demonic invasions—offers a thread of civilization amid the chaos.
Character Freedom
Create your hero your way. Whether you're a dwarven engineer, an elven ritualist, or a beastkin warrior, your story is your own. Characters come with Auras—spiritual alignments like Order, Chaos, or Love—which influence roleplay and certain mechanics. Skill choice and development are shaped both by rules and what you're willing to bring to life on the field.

Systems That Matter
Fields of Illusion offers an immersive crafting and magic system with real-world elements. Alchemy, Shamanism, Runesmithing, and Engineering all require physical representations and active involvement. Mechanics like painting sigils on your skin, crafting rune-bound items, and fueling magic with Life Essence add rich texture to the game. Even crafting outcomes may hinge on games of wit or chance.
Factions and Totems
Cooperation is key. Players often band together into factions—organized groups that may earn the blessing of a Totem, a mysterious power that reflects their shared identity and grants mechanical advantages. Whether you're forming a mercantile guild, a warrior band, or a secretive cult, unity has power here.

Downtime & Progression
What happens between events matters. The Downtime system allows you to continue your character’s journey—crafting, researching, planning, or plotting. It's a way to grow, develop relationships, or influence the world, even when you're not on the field.
Inclusive Camping
All players camp in designated camping areas, regardless of tent style. Whether you're in a modern tent or a fantasy canvas setup, you're welcome. Immersion is encouraged, but comfort and accessibility come first.
